I have been lucky enough to own two exceptional horses who have achieved ambitions for me that I could only dream of. One has sadly departed this world and the other is retired having been compted by me for 19 years. I had a necklace made of one's tail and a bracelet of the other. They are beautifully made and very tasteful. I find the bracelet a bit fidily to do up on my own but the necklace is very easy. It's better to have the jewelry made before the horse has gone because it is less emotional or at least have taken the hair in plenty of time. I would highly recommend anyone having this done.
